Welcome to Mrs. Owen's webpage... 

 We are off the a great start and ready for a fun filled year! Our first graders love reading which makes teaching reading much more fun! We are very excited to see the self- motivation for AR. Our kids want to read and test! Its amazing!

As mentioned last year- our reading scores were so good that we ranked in the top 2% in Texas... granting us money to spend on technology upgrades and reading improvements. We are so excited to be using our new promethian boards in our daily lessons. The kids love using it and interacting with the "wand." We've also added the Apple I-pads to the classrooms. These will be used for digital reading and activities focused on 1st grade skills. "Imagine-It" is the new reading program we adopted- it is the Open Court upgrade! We are loving it and look forward to many more successes this year! In Math, we are rocking & rolling with HSP... it also has a online compontent that we can use with our new boards making everything student interactive!
